The customer contacted us because the three-year warranty on their large Isilon infrastructure was expiring in April of 2023, and they wanted to get a head start on looking at contingencies. They knew that after year three—we are the experts in pickup support of the hardware and OneFS—and could give them the flexibility and savings from our support option to help them figure out what they’d like to move to next for storing multi-petabytes of video.

Not only did we present a very affordable solution to extend the ROI on the Isilon during this transition safely, but we also introduced VAST as the new cutting-edge all-flash NAS—that solves many issues that competitors don’t.

Now eight months in, with Howard Fyffe leading the way, the sales process has moved along as VAST introduces SW ads that benefit the studio’s workflow.

We plan to introduce a POC or try-and-buy by late summer.
